Divers love ScubaPro, and ScubaPro loves divers. That’s why they have such a vast selection of equipment to choose from. Their fins alone offer something for every diver, from the finesse of the Jet Fins to the power of the Seawing Supernovas and the portability of the GO Travel fins.

The ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins give divers even more options. Ultra-lightweight and stiffer than the GO Travel fins, the GO Sport Gorilla fins offer a perfect combination of travel capability and diving control.

Affordable and technologically sound, the GO Sport Gorilla fins are a perfect match for almost any diver, regardless of water conditions or the thickness of their exposure suit.

Let’s dive in and take a closer look at the ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins.

ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla Fins Diving Features

I’ve been diving with the ScubaPro GO Travel fins for a while now. I began using them in the pool to save on my boots getting worn out from the chlorine in the water. So I was excited to test the GO Sport Gorilla fins to see what improvements ScubaPro had made. Since these are a little bit longer, a little bit wider, and a little bit stiffer, I knew they would handle a little bit better while diving.

The GO Sport Gorilla fins performed admirably during our testing phase in the pool. I list them somewhere in the above-average category both in flutter kick and frog kick. They were comfortable to wear and the lightness of them meant no fatigue at the end of the day.

The heel strap is the same bungee strap you’ll find on the Seawing Supernova fins. The straps are comfortable and secure the fins to your foot nicely. While a little light for my taste, these would be great fins for divers who like a lighter fin that’s a little more positively buoyant.

The ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins remind me a lot of the Aqualung Storm fins. They are lightweight and great for travel.

While these would not be my personal primary fins, I could definitely see myself using them in warm, calm waters on vacation. They could save on baggage weight and they do a serviceable job in ideal water conditions. They are a great fin for lighter divers or those who like to hop on a plane to warmer weather for their dive adventures.

ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla Fins Straps

The ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins have a heavy-duty bungee strap. The bungee itself rests inside of a rubber heel pad, and it snugs up to boots nicely. These are the same straps you will find on the Seawing Supernovas as well as the GO Travel fins. However, they do feel a little thicker and more durable than the bungee straps on the GO Travel fins.

ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla Fins Blade

The ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins come with a traditional paddle-style blade, which is a bit stiffer, wider, and longer than the original GO Travel fins. This stiffness makes the GO Sport Gorilla fins a little more powerful and gives you the ability to finesse your kick cycles.

ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla Fins Colors & Accessories

At this point, the GO Sport Gorilla fins only come in black and orange. We tested the orange ones for our rundown, and they are super bright and visible.

If you want great ScubaPro accessories, look no further than the ScubaPro Gorilla Frameless mask. It can fit a wide variety of face sizes and shapes, and also has one of the largest fields of vision on the market.

If you’re reading reviews about ScubaPro equipment you already know what quality is. We have to recommend the ScubaPro MK 25 EVO regulator. It is one of the highest-performing regulators on the market, and can suit any diver, from beginner to advanced, and even into the technical world.

ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla Fins Price/Quality Ratio

The ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins are a little bit more expensive than the original GO Travel fins from ScubaPro, and this puts them into our mid-range category. The added stiffness and the ability to wear boots with the GO Sport Gorilla fins really makes this price differential seem small.

The mid-range price, along with the light weight, makes these a great travel fin. The price point also means these are great fins for people who want a stiffer blade without the negative buoyancy.

Do we recommend the ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins?

We do recommend the ScubaPro GO Sport Gorilla fins. These are a great lightweight, paddle-style fin with added stiffness from its predecessor the GO Travel fin. This makes for a good travel fin. They’re lightweight and positively buoyant, meaning you can throw them in your gear bag or even in your carry-on luggage.

The price point of the GO Sports Gorilla fins is in the mid-range category, so these will not break the bank, but they perform like a much higher-priced set of fins.

These fins don’t have the power of the Seawing Supernovas or the finesse of the Jet Fins, but they do great in calm water conditions, where you’re not fighting a lot of surge, or when you’re just swimming around the reef system in minimal current.
