  • The wetsuit is on the heavy side

ScubaPro Everflex Yulex Dive Steamer Fit and Style

The ScubaPro Everflex is a sturdy, warm wetsuit. It is best for divers who are prone to getting cold while diving.
The ScubaPro Everflex is a sturdy, warm wetsuit. It is best for divers who are prone to getting cold while diving.

The ScubaPro everflex is available in a variety of thicknesses and sizes to meet a diver’s needs. This wetsuit is available in 3/2 mm, 5/4 mm, and 7/5 mm thicknesses. Aside from the differences in thicknesses, the only spec separating the 3/2 mm from the 5/4 mm and 7/5 mm is the ankle and wrist seal.

The 5/4 mm and 7/5 mm come equipped with an internal ankle and wrist seal that is simply an extra piece of material that sits like a ring on the forearm and calf. This is designed to prevent water from entering through the wrists and ankles. However, it can feel tight or uncomfortable to divers not used to this feature.

This wetsuit also comes in a variety of sizes ranging from XXS to 4XL. The S–XL sizes are also available in short or long, making this a versatile suit for a wide variety of women.

Warmth and Comfort

Pay special attention to the sizing chart—if you fall on the line between two sizes, then we suggest sizing up for more flexibility and comfort. The ScubaPro Everflex is less flexible than competitors like the Sherwood Marine Conservation wetsuit. However, the internal fleece lining makes this wetsuit extra cozy when on.

A consideration when purchasing the 5/4 mm or 7/5 mm is the fit of the internal ankle and wrist seal. While great for leak prevention, this feature can feel too tight on a diver’s forearm or calf.

One of our reviewers said that this feature made the wetsuit feel like it was cutting off the circulation to her hands. As such, it is worth exploring if this feature is comfortable to you before you make a purchase.

ScubaPro Everflex Yulex Performance

The ScubaPro Everflex is a high-performance wetsuit. This wetsuit is made from a plant-based foam called Yulex, which is neoprene-free. Additionally, the Everflex was designed to have few seams, which increases its durability.

The fleece lining, plus the inner wrist and ankle seals, ensure that there is minimal to no leaking, making this wetsuit extremely warm. The protected shoulders and knees also increase the lifespan of this wetsuit by ensuring that high-friction areas won’t easily wear out.

Price/Quality Ratio

The ScubaPro Everflex Yulex Steamer is a high-end wetsuit, with a high-end price tag to match. That being said, you get what you pay for, and this wetsuit was built to last.

Some of the features that make this wetsuit high-end are the Yulex material and multi-thickness design. Other features that set this wetsuit apart are the internal fleece lining, the internal seals, and the abrasion pads.

Overall, this wetsuit is designed to last and would be best suited for frequent divers looking to purchase a wetsuit that can withstand some wear and tear.

Do we recommend the ScubaPro Everflex Yulex Dive Steamer?

We do recommend the ScubaPro Everflex Yulex Dive Steamer for divers looking for a high-quality wetsuit that can withstand plenty of wear and tear. This wetsuit is an investment piece, so it is important to ensure that it fits you well with no unwanted tightness or stiffness before you decide to purchase it.
