There’s no doubt that the Egyptian Red Sea is one of the world’s top diving destinations. With incredible visibility, abundant marine life, healthy coral, and frequent pelagics, the Red Sea is a diver’s paradise. 

Due to its ideal conditions, the Red Sea offers the perfect destination any time of the year. The temperature is highest between July and September, and although December to February is slightly colder it’s still plenty warm for diving.

The Sea Serpent fleet is one of the top-rated fleets in the Red Sea. With four vessels operating throughout the year, guests are sure to find an itinerary to suit their needs. The M/Y Sea Serpent schedules week-long dive cruises to world-famous sites, including Brothers Islands, Elphinstone, and historical wrecks including the SS Thistlegorm, Salem Express, and Abu Nahas, all along the Red Sea coast from Hurghada to Sharm El Sheikh.

Diving on the Sea Serpent liveaboard

Diving in the Red Sea offers ideal weather and water conditions throughout the year. There are a variety of dive sites to choose from, ranging in depth, current strength, endless reef walls, and marine life encounters. Sites are suitable for divers of all levels including technical and rebreather divers.

While the weather is perfect for diving year-round, the air temperature is highest, ranging from 77 to 113 F (25 to 45 C), during the summer season from June to September. Water temperatures range from 70 to 80 F (21 to 27 C).

The Sea Serpent itinerary varies throughout the year, offering options like St. Johns, Brothers Islands, Ras Muhammed, Safaga, and the Straits of Tiran. Wrecks include the SS Thistlegorm, the Abu Nuhas wrecks, and the Rosalie Moeller. Note that certain dive sites may be subject to change depending on weather conditions.

A professionally trained, multilingual crew ensures that guests receive a high level of attention and service.

The boat is equipped for recreational and rebreather diving, with free nitrox available for certified divers. With up to four dives a day, guests can delight in all that the Red Sea has to offer in a week-long “eat, dive, sleep” cycle.

The spacious dive deck was designed to include plenty of space for divers to prepare their gear and move around safely. There’s room for equipment storage, individual racks for each diver, and a sink to rinse after dives.

Onboard the Sea Serpent

The Sea Serpent is a 112-foot (34 m) luxury liveaboard built with a hydrodynamic hull designed for speed, stability, and comfort, even in high seas. The ship accommodates up to 22 guests in 11 air-conditioned, ensuite cabins.

On the main deck, guests can unwind in the spacious, modern, and comfortably furnished lounge, where they can dine, watch movies, play board games, and socialize. In between dives, guests can relax in the shaded lounging areas on all four decks or get a tan and read a book on the sundeck.

In addition to the cabins and lounge, the upper sundeck features ample seating at both the front and back, including a bar and shaded areas. Guests can stay connected online for work or share their pictures on social media with the free Wi-Fi available onboard.

Dining on the Sea Serpent

Professionally trained staff and crew work around the clock to provide an unforgettable holiday experience, including dining.

The chef prepares delicious food, which is served buffet-style three times a day. Menus include both local and international cuisines, as well as snacks and soft drinks, water, tea, and coffee, provided free of charge.

Beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages are available at the bar for an additional charge.
