So much choice out there it’s good to have guide points as I’m a novice diver. Thank you.

Hi Glenn,

I’d suggest you try the Cressi SF1 – It’s not the most “sexy” mask, but it’s really great for a wide array of face shapes.

I’m looking for a high volume two window scuba mask. I need a high volume as most masks squeeze against my forehead causing pain at depth

Hi,
Looking for a larger mask … Lip to forehead, needs to be about 12 cm. Have difficulty finding a mask that will be vertically. My mask is getting old and need to work in a new one.
Thanks,
Curtis

Hi Harriet,

Sometimes it’s not the user or the mask, but that you’re just not meant for each others :) So, try a different one, and the ScubaPro Trinidad is a great mask.

I am a diving newbie (only done PADI OW so far) and I was given an aqualung favola mask as part of my course. I really didn’t get a long with it. I struggle to pinch my nose. I don’t think I have a particularly small nose but perhaps I do! Looking at your review I’m thinking the Trinidad might be a good option for me?

Hi There,

Yes, we’re working on other pages as our recommendations.

Can we buy from somewhere else but amazon

Nothing here is good. Facial hair is just not good for diving and masks. So, it’s trial and error, until you find one that’s a good fit. I had good success with the Aqualung Micormask, but I heard from others in the same situation that it didn’t fit them and made the mask flood.

Best mask for facial hair?

Hi Etkin,

That’s a good mask as well. I’ve been using it for some years as well.

That’s a good question, and I can’t come to think of any low volume single lens masks at all. I think that in order to make it low-volume it needs to be dual-lens. Sorry, that’s not a lot of help.

Hi Torben,

I hope you are well. For 10 years, I have been using Technisub micromask, which fit my face perfectly. I love it, it has the lowest volume, easy to clear, and a good vision. But, I am thinking to buy a single lens/ one window mask that is as small as micromask. Considering the current COVID situation, it is not easy to try every different brand at the moment. Do you have any advice on that? Thank you in advance.

Are there any duel snorkel full face 180 degree diving masks that release air on the sides instead of the front?
Thanks!

Hi Billy,

I haven’t tested it, so I can’t recommend it yet. That said, I’ve only heard good things said about it, and you usually don’t go wrong with a Scuba Pro mask.

Do you recommend ScubaPro Solo dive mask?

I have a normal sized face but with a big nose. Is that likely to cause a fit issue?

Torben Lonne

Hi Kathy,

I know the issue very well. My wife has large cheekbone and whenever she smiles the water would flood any mask. At the beginning of her diving, this was really an issue when she had to focus on learning skills while having to empth a mask all the time (she got really good at it though).

We eventually found a mask that covered 99% of the time, but this was through testing and trying each and every mask we could find. We ended with a “no-name” mask, that just made a perfect fit for her.

This is my best advice for you. Try as many masks as you can. When on a dive trip ask if you can borrow your buddy/dive guides mask (often you just have to try it out on land). When you pass a dive shop, go in and try of a few masks. It can be hard, but I’m sure you’ll find one that fits.

Hi
This might sound crazy but get a lot of leakage, it’s because I have a small upper lip, so there isn’t much room for the mask skirt. Any slight mouth movement breaks the seal which is a pain as I smile a lot when diving.
Can you recommend a mask for this?

Torben Lonne

Hi there,

To solve this issue, it depends on the form of the mustache and how this fits with the mask. Go for a mask with a soft skirt this will sometime make a proper seal.

A few tips for diving with Mustache/beard:
1. Shave it off – That’s not a piece of good advice, but this will give the best dive :)
2. Grease it – Add some facial product that is greasy. This might form a seal and will do the trick.
3. Deal with it – Doing your dive course, you learned how to clear a mask now it’s time to apply it.

Hi Adam,

At the moment we don’t have any reviews for kids mask, but I’ll add it to the idea board, and hopefully, in the future, we’ll have some. Thanks for sharing your needs.

Dear Madam or Sir,

I am searching for a mask (that can live up to the californian regulations on plastics !) for my 5-year old girl. Which experiences have you made with your kids?
Would you be so kind to create a review similar to this one for kids?

Thank you so much and have a great day,
Adam
