If you’re looking for a dive snorkel mask that is leak-proof with a comfortable seal and good clarity, then you’ve probably heard about the Kraken Aquatics Dive Snorkel Mask. This led us to buy it and test it to see if this mid-priced model lives up to its promise.
After several sessions in the salty Mediterranean, our initial impressions tell another tale than that of our hopes.
While this mask from Kraken is a pretty good starter mask for scuba diving, free diving and snorkeling. It’s one that any noobie will appreciate for its comfortable skirt and nice design, but some more seasoned divers will find the viewing constrained. By that, we mean too narrow a field of view.
This viewing experience is actually preferred by some divers who like to keep their eyes direct ahead, without distractions to scuttle their focus.
As a starting point for our team that tested this, it luckily got better from here.
This scuba mask pairs well with the Kraken Aquatics dry snorkel which makes it an excellent choice for beginner snorkelers and scuba divers looking to expand their kit list.
The Kraken Aquatics Dive Snorkel Mask features high-quality, impact-resistant tempered glass, which provides excellent optical clarity, especially when anti-fog remedies such as anti-fog spray or toothpaste are applied.
The mask’s default anti-fogging ability is not hugely impressive but any issues can easily be taken care of with the right preparation. We used a Spit anti-fog solution the night before using diving for the first time, which worked quite well.
The tempered glass lens is also extremely durable, scratch resistant and shatterproof so you feel safe and comfortable at all times when navigating tight wrecks, caves or when faced with breaking waves on the surface.
This mask fits snugly around your face and forms a watertight seal against your skin. Our divers did not report any leaking whatsoever which means that you will be able to enjoy this mask with absolutely no hassle during your dive or snorkel adventures.

This dive mask’s single piece lens features a gentle downward slope around the nose pocket and is curved at the base to provide you with a more unobstructed view ahead while also allowing for a wider field of vision and a lower internal volume.

Perhaps it’s been a while since your last dive and your hair has grown out, or perhaps your testing yourself in colder waters and have decided to wear a dive hood. Using the soft-squeeze buckles and the adjustable straps, you’ll find getting the snorkel mask on is simply effortless.

Tempered Glass One-Piece Lens
Regular (ie. cheap) glass masks may shatter if they are subjected to too much pressure or if an underwater catastrophe happens, whilst plastic masks are more susceptible to fogging. Enter tempered glass lenses.
The tempered glass serves to add a valuable sense of safety for the user as well as durability. Masks are often at the mercy of human negligence as they get left in the sun, crushed by scuba tanks or stepped on, so you really want a high quality mask that will stand the test of time.
Snorkel masks with a single lens window provide more comfort around the nasal bridge and a reduced internal volume. This can help reduce drag underwater and save valuable air!

The Kraken Aquatics Dive Snorkel Mask is an excellent mask for the price.
The mask is constructed of high grade silicone, making it extremely durable and comfortable to wear. It also has an adjustable strap and buckle system that makes it easy to put on and remove.
The mask has a clear field of vision that allows you to see clearly without any obstruction from the top portion of the mask. This makes it perfect for snorkeling or diving in open water environments where sharks could be present!
Overall, this mask is definitely worth every penny!
